#RomComBracket 2022 is here!

That’s right, it’s time again for #RomComBracket!

Will this finally be the year for your fav to take the title? Will there be tears? Will we stretch the definition of “romcom” yet again? Yes to all.

What is #RomComBracket?

If you aren’t familiar with this, it’s a fun romantic comedy themed bracket I created and coordinated on social media since 2018! This year I’m excited to have Romance Ever After join the chaos party!

Scroll down for more details on how it works and how you can vote.

Here are the important dates for 2022’s RomComBracket:

January 24-30: Nomination period. Each year anyone and everyone can nominate their favorite movies on Twitter. This year it was expanded to a Google form too. If you have a favorite film, make sure to campaign for it to make it on the bracket!

February 7: The bracket will be dropped on social media (and linked in this post).

February 14: Voting begins! This will happen on both my Twitter feed and Romance Ever After‘s as a thread of Twitter polls.

March: Once the polls are closed and we’ve decided a winner, we will hold a movie watch party. Stay tuned!

Here’s how it works:

A nomination thread for romcoms is started on Twitter. There are 64 slots to be filled, which is a lot, but also means not everything will make it into the bracket, sorry!

I create a bracket based on the top-recommended films, and you can start filling it out as soon as you see it on social media!

When the voting period starts, I post polls on Twitter. The polls last for 24 hours. Vote to get your favorite through. This voting process will repeat until the end!

When it’s over, we will have a livetweet watch party for the winning movie.

Use the hashtag #RomComBracket to be part of the conversation.

How do you participate?

Just follow the hashtag #RomComBracket on Twitter and have fun!

How do I choose positions?

Naturally some themes show up in suggestions that turn into categories. Then I try to shuffle titles around and tweak them for spacing (and fun).
